  • Awesome. I get paid on the 15th I'm quite certain ill buy at least four then if you could hold on to those for me. Giftrocket sounds fine to me. I'll message you when my check comes in.
  • Oh man, this is pretty awesome. I'm about an hour south of LA but will definitely have to stop by and help out with things sometime.
  • There is tons of information on all of these subjects around the forum already. Do some searching and you will find all your answers. If you have another more specific question that you can't find information after you do some searching we'd be glad to help you.
  • Indeed. Well I'm still in obviously. Now about heath issues. Are the any we would need to worry about over time of testing? I understand issues can be had with long term use. How bad are things looking short term? I would do the research myself but you seem to much better at it, and well actually have access. Now I a…
  • Hmm. So the better pitch sensitivity is due to some other yet unknown weirdness and not neural plasticity? Or at least it hasn't been proven as such. But the drug still indeed seems to help speed the process of ear training? Is it just ear training in general or does it actually seem to help with perfect pitch?
  • Hmm yeah, what that'd be 10 grams for 18.6 dollars? I could probably do that. And i want to keep the dosage low.Just train really hard.Edit: And thanks @zombiegristle i knew there were those adverse effects but not to that scale. Ill have to look into that more later. I'd like to sleep tonight.
  • Yeah the metro will take me right there. Sweet, yeah I can pitch in on gas as well as the house.
  • Hmm, no input on the first bit other than it is an interesting thought. But as far as the magnetic nail polish. I can't imagine there would be any difference in result. Do not think the magnet is strong enough or the nail polish having a low enough viscosity for any noticeable change. But it is possible.
  • I'm in the Inland Empire, but can meet you anywhere in so cal likely.
  • Hmm, I'd like to go but lack transport. Anyone in southern California have an extra seat?(if they aren't flying)
  • Yeah that's all completely doable. Now how about my hourly methamphetamine use? That shouldn't be an issue right? /joking
  • So I forgot to add my bit about smoking... I don't smoke tobacco. Like once a month cigar or hookah. But I do smoke a decent bit of marijuana like thrice a week about? Sometimes more sometimes less. I'm not exactly in on experiment yet so It doesn't matter anyways. But would it if I was in on the experiment? Though I stop…
  • I'm with you. Never thought of losing weight as an attempt to become a better labrat haha. And yeah all of my dollars are going to my projects. Though if I get the sum of cash i'm planning on getting I hope to put at least $10 of it into your project(not a lot, but its not a big sum either haha) @john - 266 lbs - no clue…
  • EternalStudent, we also have the problem that no biosafe flexible wiring currently exists. It would need to be both to truly do what you are talking about. Transmitting power or data across parts of the body.
  • Yeah Thomas I got less interested in my idea as I was typing it. Figured I would post it anyways to spark discussion. But still what remains is that audio bounces off the walls fast enough to effect our perception of the sound as it comes in. Your voice sounds perceptibly different in a big versus small room. So your mind…
  • Okay i'm now wondering how much of the precedence effect is mental and how much is physical. Mostly i'm wondering about how phasing effects this and if we could make our devices much smaller by just making use of phase. Ill get to the application after I explain my theory. So talking in a large room vs a small one, first,…
  • Well yes they would, they are essentially the same thing. But the binaural mics would be tuned for accuracy and would be matched so the two mics will be paired so quality control would not interfere with accuracy. I don't have a clue what a fiberoptic mic is... Never heard of them. Doesn't make any sense really.
  • Director glad you found my information useful. I believe I have a decent amount of knowledge in acoustics, sound, hearing, audio and the like so if you have anymore question ask away. You can get audacity for free audio editing.
  • So i was finally able to get my hands on the paper that i was looking for regarding the recent creation of "Ultrastrechable Fibers With Metallic Conductivity"(thanks again Glims). http://news.ncsu.edu/releases/wms-dickey-stretch-wire/They already demonstrate its usability in earphones and chargers so i was thinking it…
  • Thanks Glims, going to read it now. Wow, this is great, can't believe they wanted to charge 50 dollars for 24 hours of access.
  • I've been looking for this particular paper as the conductive stretchable wiring sounds incredible useful for various grinder projects. If it were bioinert it would be incredible though i'm assuming its likely not. Anyways if anyone could access it i'd be pretty damn happy.…
  • Also I forgot to mention, do you guys really find it that hard to hear echos in small rooms? I've never been in a room where I couldn't click(with my mouth) and be able to hear where exactly in the room the most reverberation was coming from. I have been training my ear for a while but... I'm not sure if im not normal or…
  • Very cool information DirectorX, appreciate the repost. And yeah what Thomas said about being able to do it all from a computer should work great, especially for testing various variables before intergrating the final bits into a smaller chip. You can source some what are called "binaural mics" for not too much, they will…
  • Hmm Thomas you seem to have not just immediately shot this down like I was sure you would have. Though yeah your "wear a T-shirt" pretty much showed how much the idea overall is like the whole NASA vs Russia pencil vs pen thing.(though I know the actual story with that, just using it as a well known example). Anyways I…
  • Thanks Thomas, I was thinking of answering him but I knew someone would come by that is actually decent at using words. I'm horrible, your explanation is great.
  • "The simplest manifestation of this would be inserting two conductive "needles" into appropriate regions to recharge a battery. I'm not sure how this could be bioproofed and I wouldn't want to have to be too accurate. I'll have to think about how such a port could work." This is one of the(I think) better ideas I've come…
  • http://tangentsoft.net/elec/reviews/ Here are some good resources for analog electronics, you probably want to learn all of this before you go digital. This will provide a good backbone and is necessary for power supplies, and various things biohacking circuits will need. I cant tell you where to go from there but I assume…
  • That was from a while back, I remember seeing it when the article was first published. I wonder how many of us are io9ers? Or follow any Gawker media outlet for that matter. Here is something extremely relevant to this thread from Gizmodo.…
  • Nevermind, I just reread the comments above... I'll message you when im ready to purchase.
  • I'm very interested in buying 10 but probably within the week. Have to sort a few things out before I purchase them. How much would 10 be with shipping to California?
