@meanderingman, I'm here in Tehachapi with @glims and @cassox. I'm scheduled for a meditation retreat up in San Jose on the thirtieth. You wouldn't happen to be driving back that way around then? I'd be happy to split gas, snacks, whatever.
-
@IDPS I'll definitely bring it up at the meeting. You're right, since it's a one-time hurdle. And users already have to write an application to register.
-
@drjaaz We have had an IRC since the beginning but granted it hasn't been prominently displayed. I don't think it's something that's going to extinguish this community. There are far too many users. @glims I'm in full agreement. One of the proposed suggestions is to have biohack.me direct to a landing page with prominent…

We are meeting today at 6pm EST—less than two hours from now. Go ahead and email me if you'd like to take part.
-
@TheGreyKnight Yes, we will be porting over the old discussions.
-
@kjwx I'm in NYC until Sunday.
-
@pkp336 @kjwx We should be able to address both of these needs in the wiki. May I suggest a page created where grinders can list their companies? We may need to install the Image Extension module before photos can be listed inline. @AMNESIA I enjoy biohack.me's open ethos. Being a grinder doesn't mean you're part of some…

I can't implement any of your suggestions without a competent coder. Email me your applications and I'll get you what you need.
-
@rdb Yes they're likely unintentional regressions. Please bear with us while @mkabala brings a much needed overhaul to the site.
-
I'm in for ten.
-
@oblique Xihilisk - Chrysalis March.
-
@Rasputin I have a friend in medicine. Have you checked The Silk Road? We'll soon have our own darknet site for just such discussions.
-
@oblique Please send on requests for features to either of our expert webmasters, @mydnight at mydnight AT biohack DOT me or @pryk at phryk AT biohack DOT me, respectively.

@Ghost02236 I'd argue it's given significance by its unlikeness to other symbols and objects. The viewer experiences pareidolia, especially from afar. It was intended to by a symbol to be meditated on, like its relatives in occult sigilism.

The procedure demonstrated in the video is outmoded. Because of the volume of blood exiting the wound and the difficulty of making a deep incision, two of the magnets exited the wounds during the procedure and the third was pushed out over a month. I've used Xylocaine, a sterile, nonpyrogenic, aqueous solution of…

@Ghost02236 The Sigil (the graphic on the top left), is not difficult to tattoo. Any tattoo artist, given a print out, would be able to trace it onto a transfer.
-
@Jackthetripper Thanks for your efforts! I've forwarded your request to redirect the Sigil to our crack webmaster, @phryk. He's reachable at phryk AT biohack DOT me. Commenting your edits should be more than sufficient while we await steam-engine-time. When a discussion page is needed, I expect it to spontaneously emerge.

I did not intend to turn this into a broader discussion, only to open the discussion to the consideration of smaller sizes. That said, I'm in for 5.
-
@cerasi BJA Magnetics had a few samples I requested in a somewhat larger size than our target but refused to deal with me after extensive talks. Why not go to the source? China. There are a number of suppliers on Alibaba. And it could help reading this handy guide to purchasing things from China.
-
@cerasi made a strong argument for smaller magnets: as small as 1mm x .5mm. There are exponential gains in field strength in relation to size the smaller the magnets. I would caution waiting to commit to a size until we're sure how small these can be made viably.
-
This info will be merged into the short infotext you see above the forum navigation. The chat.biohack.me subdomain will be dropped.
-
@Sarcose, I intend to eventually set up a local linkdump using StatusNet and close down the Facebook group. In my opinion, it's contributing to site fragmentation.
-
Congratulations on making it to Hacker News' top daily stories! I did not think to use tissue elevators: would have made my own procedure much easier. Do you know the dimensions of the magnet you had implanted? What tool was used to insert it?
-
Has it been considered that the magnetic field of the magnet inside the steel hypodermic needle might be too strong to be pushed out with any low viscosity liquid?
-
"The closest we have are .3Ø x 2.5 (you can cut/break these to shorter size) or a 2Ø x .5mm in N50." Going by this needle gauge comparison chart, am I right in saying a 12 gauge could fit the 2Ø?
-
I spoke with Rich of BJA Magnetics. He might have a few n50 samples around he can send. If they work, I'll see about setting up a Kickstarter for 150 of the n52's.
-
I'd be in for a dozen. Post a group buy.
-
I'd have to host it on biohack.me; we need a webmaster to do it.
-
I moved listings to our wiki, collaborate. Future listings should be posted to the article, Magnet Implant Clinics and Piercers after I fix the wiki backend. Please feel free to discuss here until it is.

What's the best method to contact Kevin? Does he answer the email listed on kevinwarwick.com?
