haha, ok, thought something sounded off about the 128kHz rc being more accurate than the datasheet says the calibrated 8MHz one is.in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsJune 2011

the datasheet says "The frequency depends on supply voltage, temperature and batch variations" about the 128kHz oscillator. so, the inaccuracy is only relative to the nominal frequency, and whatever frequency the oscillator happens to be...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsJune 2011

@ThomasEgi and i were talking about that a little while ago, and to skim over the technical details, the rate nerve stimulations would occur at with Southpaw wouldn't be consistent because of power saving measures.(specifically, an inaccurate but ...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsJune 2011

take a look at the code here: http://neurolepsy.com/southpaw/hmc/main.cpp is the relevant file, the other stuff is just I2C support and a makefile.it doesn't even touch the config registers, so there's no 43/83 incompatibility there, and changing ...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsMay 2011

i'm working on a constant current electrode driver. what i have now works for LEDs, but i don't have needles long enough to try it with electrodes. i've got some on order though.i'll also try to clean up the code i've got for getting useful inform...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsMay 2011

you might want to look the 110mAh battery Sparkfun sells. it's 4x15x28 mm. Sparkfun are out of stock right now, but you should be able to find a reseller pretty easily.i thought you could get SMD to DIP adapters that didn't require any soldering, ...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsMay 2011

yeah, there's a ton of optimizing i need to do.i saw it on this datasheet towards the top of page 2, under "Average Current Draw"in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsMay 2011

you're right, SMD coils would be much better. have you got some picked out? here's a booklet which lists all the antennas some company called Premo make, and one or two of them look like they'd work well, the TP0602 in particular.and thanks f...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsMay 2011

haha. i thought i might have done something stupid to have the code use so much space, judging from your reaction i'd say that i must have done so.without using any floating point numbers, the .hex file the compiler produces is 80 lines long, but ...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsMay 2011

i've got a blog post describing how to build an induction receiver that can use regular RFID readers as power sources. the one i've built can get enough power to run a microcontroller and LiPo recharger simultaneously, if it's close enough to the ...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsMay 2011

awesome. i've read about the 5883 in a few places, but hadn't ordered any yet. they should obviously be preferred for the final units though.i've been working on an external prototype as well, and should have one going in a day or two. it'll only ...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsMay 2011

i did manage to get the chips talking to each other. the main problems were the resistors between the HMC5843 and the ATtiny (no idea why the data sheet suggests them), and i was giving the I2C code the slave read/write addresses the wro...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsApril 2011

oh, so it does. thanks for pointing that out - it still uses what looks like a very different method to the ATMega chips of controlling the hardware I2C, but i guess i'll just have to suck it up, read the docs, and get coding.i've got a few 44s on...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsApril 2011

has anyone here managed to get an HMC5843 to talk to a microcontroller over I2C? i'm using a couple of these things and i can't get any response out of them at all.i've got the I2C bus pulled up with 10k resistors, 10k resistors between the H...in Prosthetics, wearables, and hapticsApril 2011

i implanted a Hitag S 2048 into my left hand a few hours ago. there's more information here, but basically, i just used a 5ga needle (thanks SixEcho) to make a big hole in my hand, then used some disposable forceps from a sterile first aid ki...in Everything elseApril 2011
