I'm just not buying the nuke plant or hoover dam. Magnetic fields lose strength logarithmically, which is a fancy math word for REALLY FRIGGIN FAST and exponentially. Let's say the field at 3" is half of the one from 2", the field at 4" might be 1/4 or even 1/8 the strength as at 3". So miles away, you get into fractions…

Here's a bit of unofficial, untracable, unpointed and random information that relates not at all to this thread: Fish Cin (available here) is a drug called clindamycin given to fish which is COINCIDENTALLY an antibiotic in humans useful for implanting objects and avoiding rejection. I hope this information turns out useful…

Engine no (gas engine), generator/inductor yes.

So, this NGF. Does it promote the regrowth of only nerves that are damaged, or would it have an effect on a fully healed implant site as well? Although it's only been a little bit, I'm excited for the sensitivity you've already developed.

Post in the failed implants.

Hehe. Internal storage.

Day 28. Yesterday, the white portion of the skin bubbled up after a shower (it absorbed water, obviously) so I popped it and tore off the hanging skin. Today, it's just some new pink skin with a small border of white, dead skin that will flake off within a few days. It did heal perfectly, though. There's no evidence of a…

You have to break the rules to make the rules.

We're not super worried about the directions yet, because the first thing we want to try is coiling around the wrist, like a watch, to create an EMP toward the finger. Once we do that and test different hand positions, we'll know how much of a problem the direction is. We may also do an test to see the max angle from the…

Day 26. The skin around the magnet is starting to turn white like it's going to flake. This is pretty common for a cut this deep. Luckily, I cut the same finger EXACTLY a week before the implant in a different spot, so I can use that to base its healing progress. All in all, I'm not worried. No swelling, no pus, no pain. I…

I'll make sure bciuser is recording as well.

Scary stuff. But definitely useful testing.
-
That... looks... odd. You're sure there's no swelling?

Day 22. It's fine. :)

imgur, all the way.

You can't tease us like that.

I'll drive you, bciuser. Gib ticket pls. Also, do so quickly. They're $15 now, but they'll be $50 soon.

Off-topic, but Chloride's profile picture is from the book Neuromancer by William Gibson. It's a great book.

Do you happen to have a coupon code? :)

Day 11. Got called into work, much to my dismay. Accidentally smashed my finger under a box (which hurt like fucking hell, you have no idea). Just imagine the weight of the box crushing my skin into the magnet and then into more skin, then bone. Ouch. So it got a little bruise on it, but after some ibuprofen, it seems…

The Basic First Aid page under Medical Education is completed. I also started a CPR article. I plan on working on the Becoming a Modder later today and tomorrow.

Would the LEDs be under the skin or transdermal?

That's cool. So, in terms of output, what are our options? I'm hesitant to consider minor shocks, but we could always go with the classic clicking (with a lower limit, so daily life is not accompanied by a radiation metronome). I originally was hoping for a light signal, but it doesn't seem feasible.

@bciuser, there isn't a visualization of the tree as far as I know because the wiki doesn't actually work in a tree. Every page is actually a separate page, the only connections between them being the artificial hyperlinks we put between them. It's very clever, from a web design point of view, but sadly it doesn't allow…

The amount of lidocaine used for the procedure is pretty hard to have a problem with. The lidocaine is used in two different ways, depending on who you go to. Cassox did mine and he used both methods. Nerve blocking is numbing the nerves below the finger so that the signals can't pass from the finger to the brain, so you…

I'm going on another wiki spree tomorrow if I remember to do so. I'll finish First Aid, maybe write a CPR, Pharmacology, or Hypoperfusion article. And then to boot I'll format the whole wiki again.

I'd love to get involved in this, but I have no experience in it. Glad to see it's getting your interest though. :)
