Successful Double M31 Implantation
So, after my first attempt a few weeks ago, I decided to give it another go on the 2nd of May. This time I used a local anaesthetic injection, which allowed me to work more quickly than before. Pretty much standard implantation procedure, although I used the #15 scalpel to make the pocket rather than a blunt object. Middle… -
Considering doing the magnet thing eventually; let me know what details I'm missing?
And I wanted to make sure what I'm planning doesn't include any catastrophic mistakes. So I'm writing out a step-by-step list of what I'm considering doing, so that people who have done this can call me out on what I got wrong. This will contain nothing novel or interesting, as most of the information comes from somewhere… -
I implanted this evening
You may have read my plan in my other thread. Tonight, I did it. The person who was going to be assisting me backed out 15 minutes before I was set to start, so it was a solo operation. Two people observed part of the process, and I decided against anyone filming (sorry, it was becoming too much of a spectacle for my… -
Botched the insertion
I attempted magnet insertion myself; ordered a ton of sterile supplies and some lidocaine, and went at it with a friend all scrubbed up to assist. Unfortunately, my scalpel wasn't shaped correctly (#10) to make a deep enough pocket without making a massively oversized incision, and the lidocaine was wearing off by the time… -
Re: Magnet Injection
I have done both, the injection way sucks for m31 size magnets because it sticks to the needle and the taper is so long on the needle that it tends to poke all the way threw to the other side of the finger, and it sucks to have a needle go from one side all the way to the other like a finger kabob. Use a #15 blade and… -
Re: Soon to implant! Few questions.
I know it's in about every post above this, and so it pains me to say, I don't have much in the way of pictures... But I will certainly post what I do have shortly, and take more as the healing process goes. I do have a magnet in my left ring fingertip! Success! It was a bit nerve-wracking (haha), but I do believe all went… -
Re: Soon to implant! Few questions.
I have ordered the supplies. Gold 3x1.5mm neodymium magnets, found here:http://www.gaussboys.com/store/index.php/d0301g.html In hindsight, I feel I should use the 4x1mm from the first post. I won't worry too much, but will the extra half a milimeter be problematic? I purchased the pain management kit and a disposable #15… -
