  • Sorry, I actually haven't purchased a reader for it yet so I am unsure how accurate my placement is. I'm hoping we see an NFC version soon that could be read by a smartphone.
  • If it glows, I'm down. :3
  • Glad you appreciated the content! Here's one final video of my PC being unlocked with the NeXT and a 125kHz reader. Unfortunately there's still a little too much swelling for the kbr1 to read it, but my phone will read it. https://youtube.com/watch?v=LLlV-THW_Bs
  • It has now been 4 days since the installation, the swelling has calmed down, though there is still some slight bruising. There is no pain to speak of, unless the implants are bumped, in which case they feel like a small mild bruise. I actually just got back from a 24 mile bicycle ride, if that says anything about the speed…
  • Ok, finally some time to get a post together. So I had the three chips installed about 4 days ago now. Such a fun procedure. After cleaning the area with an alcohol pad and chloraprep, we did the installs. Super fast easy process. Here are a few photos from the installation, as well as a video. Youtube link to…
  • Installation went really well. Love getting these installed. Will post a more comprehensive update with photos and a video link when I find some time in my busy schedule.
  • Welp. Less than 2 hours until the install. Gotta love that nervous excitement. Didn't realize just how sensitive the underside of the arm is.... Will update when I can.
  • @Sandra @Satur9 Thanks for the input. I actually just order the kbr1 a few days ago. Looking forward to getting it in the post. Getting the microchips installed tonight. Should be a good time. Only one I think might be difficult will be the one on the blade edge of the hand. Seems like a difficult place to tent the skin.…
  • @Sandra Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a source for a micro bankcard in the USA. Just isn't something available here. So I guess I'm holding out, hoping for a fidesmo/vivokey solution. If I were in a more public setting, I might put a reader under my desk, as this is a home office setting, on the top works for…
  • @Sandra Nice! I have to say I am jealous of your collection. I decided to put the NeXT on the blade edge of my left hand since I intend to use it for unlocking my pc, and potentially for entering my house. I also have a few local businesses I frequent that have an NFC based rewards program that I can use it for. The blade…
  • I might try one of these out in time, waiting to hear feedback from the early adopters.
  • @Birdhandz thanks for the update! My attempt has fared about as well. I wasn't able to get many particles to survive the healing process, but it hasn't changed since, nor has there been any reaction of any sort. Might eventually invest in a tattoo machine and give it another go, but that's the story of my attempt thus far.…
  • @bleemster I found this. "I can really only use the Coke Freestyle cup for the day? Yes and no. We say “yes” because the Coke Freestyle cups can only be used the day you purchase them for free refills at the Coke Freestyle stations. Universal is able to track this because each cup has an RFID chip inside it (RFID stands…
  • @Satur9 Yes. And beyond that, the read range of LF is substantially longer, (a huge benefit if you need to access your safe in a hurry). You really don't want to be sitting there with a HF chip, trying to re-position your hand and struggling to get it to read. Considering that the antenna itself might be hidden behind a…
  • First off, welcome to the forums! In answer to your question, while I am not terribly familiar with your area, a lot of body mod artists travel around to do work as a guest in other studios. I know Chase Campbell travels a bit, might be worth seeing if he will be stopping down that way in the future. When I had my first…
  • @MaverickM22 In my opinion, most implants currently available are relatively futureproof. 125khz chips and readers have existed for decades and are still just as relevant. Even NFC chips, which are substantially newer, will be relevant for years and years to come. The only issue I could think of is storage size, but unless…
  • @bleemster I actually am unfamiliar with those refill cups... Will have to do some research... My guess is they have a good IT team who has set up safegaurds against exploits, but you never know. I actually walked into Panera Bread after they installed their NFC table numbering system. Turns out all the tags in the table…
  • I'd definitely buy a few if the implant trials are promising. Have any idea what the pricing on these would look like? Also, I love the aqua. Do you think we could eventually 3D print molds for these and cheaply create custom glowing implants?
  • Well, we had photos, radiation tests, and a slew of us lined up for beta tests. I myself expected it to be a huge improvement, but I waited to see if there might be any unforeseen issues. Everyone on the forum was pushing for its release and with nothing indicating that it would miss the mark in any way, I would have…
  • "This is true. x3x" I love the idea phosphorescence idea as well and am working towards making a feasible tattoo using it. I love the idea of an implant, (or of incorporating it into an implant), but lack the resources to pursue that branch atm. But please. Can we keep the threads separate?
  • Sounds pretty great. And the world moves one step forward towards making me glow in the dark...
  • Not to ruffle any feathers, but when you buy one of these mods, you are essentially a beta tester. If you want an implant test and full review, then wait until the early adopters have them installed.
  • That's great news @Birdhandz! Unfortunately mine didn't end up sticking and I lost most of it to healing. Thinking I'll grab some glycerine for the next attempt.
  • Update: Two nights ago I mixed some water with some of the powder (roughly a 30/70 water to powder ratio). I put in on my skin and tattooed a single line just under an inch long. As I went with the <85 micron powder, it does seem to be rather difficult to get into the skin, but a bit seemed to stick. Of course it will be a…
  • Purchased some glow powder marketed as silicone encapsulated (waterproof) in aqua. I went with <85 micron as I think it should be small enough to get into the skin, while being large enough to hold light for a while. While I don't have a tattoo machine, I have a bit of experience with hand tattooing and have some…
  • That's really great! I'm just waiting on a few more reviews before I bite the bullet. I've heard a lot of complaints about the brightness and am hoping to see some positive reviews.
  • I'm really hoping to get my hands on a V2, still waiting to hear more about the brightness as compared to the V1. It seems like it should be substantially brighter. I've found the recent posts rather surprising. My V1 is visible from about 20 feet in darkness.
  • Looks awesome, I won't lie. For me though, that's a lot of effort and potential infection risk for a 3-7 day mod... You do you though. Looks incredible.
  • What if we were to reduce some of these questions to a set of 10 point agree/disagree sliders? It would be interesting to see a graph of where we all lie on these issues. Or at least an average forum opinion.
