  • Then i wish you luck, because the substance that the most recent person (aside from you) are talking about is DMT. DEFINITELY do your research on that one before you try it, and be prepared to have your reality shattered. I honestly dont know if that drug is the best for achieving flow state either, because you won't have…
  • Err...try doing mindfulness meditations sober before trying to reach flow state while tripping...
  • Nice! I knew it had something to do with meditation.
  • oh wow...good luck finding them
  • @JohnDoe did you ever do the EEG? Also i'm convinced it has to do with being "in the moment", literally. I've been practicing mindfulness and i'm pretty sure it's working. While drugs/other chemicals may help in some way or another, they most likely arent even necessary and could potentially lead to a crutch or addiction.
  • Are you able to find out the toxicity of cholestryl nonanoate? My (brief) searches come up with nothing, although it is used in hair dye and make up so it probably isnt too bad. You should also try and find out if the chemical will break down under the skin, since it'san organic compound.
  • There is a little motor thats triggered when it vibrates, so in this case its probably tou feeling that
  • Supposedly it's normal vision, with possible light patterns overlain. Sounds like what i expected, kind of.
  • Vaping is definitely a good way to test this, because you can have liquid without nicotine. The nicotine solution OP linked is basically e-liquid without flavorings and propylene glycol. My experience with nicotine is weird, because I'm not sure it does much to enhance my cognitive ability. I've been vaping for about a…
  • That makes sense to me. It does seem more like "muscle" memory, except in this case it's nerve memory. But I feel like thats still a heritable thing. If someone who is good at basketball has kids, their kids will probably also be good at basketball. Idk how this would apply to an implanted magnet though.
  • I also live in VA and i went into one of the tattoo parlors nearby. I asked if they could implant it for me and they told me that it was illegal in Virginia :( No idea about Maryland. I think i read there are some in Ohio, though.
  • That video sounds like bunk just from reading the title. I tried listening to it and got maybe 10 minutes in or so but i couldnt stand the recording quality. Im sure if they were legitimate scientists the quality would be much better than the way it is.From what i heard out of it sounds like they're talking about…
  • You could always get a test subject ;)
  • @JohnDoe if you get one of these headset kit things, i would love to see the results from an EEG with them on.
  • @Meanderpaul having no connection to the music might be something that is preventing you from entering it. Who knows. If you're just thinking of it as sounds you enjoy hearing and nothing more, you're probably not connecting with the music enough for it to trigger (this is just an idea tbh. I usually attempt to connect…
  • Im not sure if you would want to strain to hear it. I feel like you should be able to hear it but it shouldnt overwhelm everything. You're right though, it is definitely a trial and error thing we'll have to work out.
  • @johndoe Yes, it will get you into an altered state. That's basically equivalent to meditating and focusing on breath. Your body will probably start feeling light and your mind will probably start racing making it harder to focus on your heartbeat. @meanderpaul Rock is a very active genre of music, there's a lot of…
  • I personally can't get into flow states through anger, fear, nervousness, etc. although depression and maybe happiness do work. I haven't tried deep sleep. Only certain kinds of music are triggers for me, like if its progressive/ambient to some degree. @Meanderpaul what kinds of music have you tried listening to to trigger…
  • If we're going for relaxed but focused and sparking up with ideas, showers are actually a really good example of a trigger. Meditating can do that sometimes too. So, lets generate a list of triggers now?
  • I'm pretty interested in meditation and the "magic" associated with it. I can provide links for it, even though it's somewhat out of the realm of biohacking. Although this good source i've found compared it with brain hacking, so i guess its not COMPLETELY out of the realm of biohacking because you're forcefully changing…
  • Maybe the best idea is generate a list of triggers for it. I do think something is being turned off in the brain, and therefore triggering it. I will agree that when i listen to ambient-esque music (which i listen to relatively frequently), i do feel slightly different and more "aware" i guess of my environment. I do have…
  • I feel like it would depend on the person. There's probably several ways to get it to trigger. Also, what exactly would you describe this "flow state" as? There are several communities who perform something called "void meditation", and the goal of the meditation is to completely eliminate all thought. They call it gnosis.…
  • @JohnDoe what do you mean by more common? I'm pretty sure almost everyone is capable of doing this.
  • This sounds kind of similar to hypnogogia to me. Hypnogogia is the state of consciousness between awake and asleep, and can cause hallucinations in some cases and typically gives the person a lot of creative ideas. People like Edison and Tesla supposedly would get some of their ideas from this state. In the other thread it…
  • Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for asking something that's been discussed previously. I'm just slightly worried about it shattering in my finger. How effective would they be in a position such as the back of a finger?
