  • I saw an concept animation ( a Phillips Design Probe) several years ago that plays with the idea of electronic tattoos, which might interest you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM1VuN5Iouc Very exciting idea :)
  • I would describe the pain of implanting a magnet with a big needle (10 gauge), as similar to biting my tongue or stubbing my toe. After the needle is out out and the magnet is in, the pain recedes, much like either of the aforementioned injuries. I used ibuprofen beforehand, and then a few hours afterwards, and aside from…
  • This evening the implant in my middle finger finally came out. I was able to squeeze it from the small hole it was poking through, and it emerged without blood or pus of any consistency @glims ;) It is actually a relief to have it out, as the site has been itchy and sore for a few weeks. Now I can put the magnets aside…
  • @bciuser Well, I think my middle finger implant is about to emerge, and I took some photographs this morning. http://imgur.com/rl9GX5M,lyjAuxz,h6Fjs3h#1 It has been pretty tender to the touch for the last week, but has nothing (that I can tell, so far) in the way of pus/blister type material than my pinky finger did before…
  • Oh, here is how the site looks this evening. http://imgur.com/T3QAc1I
  • How dare you! My opinions on pus are amongst the most highly regarded in the pus speculation community! I feel like I described it fairly well when I compared it to a zit: it was yellow, wet, mostly thick and a little bit runny. So not homogeneous. It was not smelly, not bloody.
  • @V10lator Sure. Good luck with your implants and reimplanting, should that occur. @glims Alrighty. I am happy to answer your questions. The site (on my pinky) was raised slightly, as it had been since the implantation back in January. As I've mentioned, it was a bit itchy, but not painful or discoloured. Magnetic…
  • So what happened was that the magnet travelled back down to the initial entry point. It had been a bit itchy for a while, and I happened to squeeze it while in the shower. A small pocket of pus broke, and then I could see the tip of the magnet. I was hoping I could push it back in and maybe use superglue to close the hole,…
  • Greetings, Australians. My name is Anna, I am in Melbourne. I have a pair of m31s that I implanted myself, and an abiding curiousity about functional mods. I am interested in an antipodean grindfest, checking out prototypes or offering assistance with procedures.
  • One week later, my wounds are healed. They were super itchy the past couple of days, but now all that remains is very mild tenderness in my pinky site, and also minor discoloration. Played around with a safety pin today to check out the magnet positions, and am happy with the results.…
  • Hahaha @glims. I fear you made a grave mistake by encouraging uptake of free accommodation and bbq events on a forum frequented by Australians.
  • I was just nuking a curry and got some mad tingles! My fingers are healing beautifully, and I am really looking forward to all the fun that lies ahead.
  • Oh, I love surprises. I am super jealous of folk able to attend. A bunch of very excited, optimistic, futuristic, barely wounded, newly augmented, mildly demented biohackers with booze and karaoke and maybe some other cool stuff. Sounds like my kind of party. Hey @AlexSmith, I am from Melbourne too, but not nearly so…
  • 10.25am 14/01/15: My m31s arrived last week. I have been waiting ever since then for some piercing needles i ordered before Christmas to arrive, and going quietly mad in anticipation. I think I have been disturbing the postman with my hovering around the letterbox and daily expressions of dismay. Today my enormous, sharp…
  • @glims @amal @cassox Gentlemen I applaud you! I have been quietly obsessing about magnetic implants for a few years now, and been limited by availability and price Down Under. Just today I received an email reply from one of the two well-known international mod-Pros currently touring with a $450 price tag for one,…
