While I am definitely not suggesting we go out and kill a bunch of mice it would be interesting to know the ld50 of NdFeB and its effects at different levels in the body.

I don't even know how to begin to respond to this.

@freedom_here it can take lots of time to do it properly if you are on a budget i did mine for under 600 but that took months of waiting on ebay and cl deals. You have to make sure your drying step and filter system is almost 100% or else you will get liquid o2 which is very bad. My first time around I got some and didn't…

I am in Vermont (probably the only one)

A liquid nitrogen generator is fairly easy to make for under 800, I built one when I was 18. As for storing it you can get a dewar you can get a 35l for less than 200 from the hwbot.org forums if you are willing to do some waiting and driving. As for other stuff thst is out of my area of expertise but I am sure as the…

gold and parylene sounds like another viable option to do testing on. I am looking for magnets to test my fda epoxy airbrushing on. I have been able to coat coins and a 3x1 mm magnet but I want a multi layer coating to try it with.4

For RFID all you need is someone with a steady hand and does not have a stomach that gets upset easily. The thought emporium has a video that goes over the basics and sparkfun also has a video.

If this group buy happens I will definitely do a write up on my findings and if it goes well I will implant it in about 8 months.
-
I am going to maybe try to electroplate a layer of gold to add a third layer. And if that still doesn't work I may try to airbrush FDA epoxy
-
I would be interested in getting a few. Is the TiN the inner or outer layer?

Dangerous things sells a pmk for around 30$

@cassox Horror gallery and what went wrong should be useful for scaring people into not doing stupid shit.
-
There is a reason people haven't done it. It isn't a linear increase after a certain point you probably won't see any increase in feeling. Another issue is time and money. If you were to get 10 Sense52 magnets that would be over a grand after taxes, if you are using lido(you should be) that is 40$ a pop from dangerous…

Why do you want/need one in every finger? If you are trying to lift stuff maybe consider one on the palm and if you want to get more sensation adding more magnets doesn't help all that much.
-
I think it would be cool to also have a skills section so people can find help and collaborate with others that have complementary skills more easily.
-
@Cassox So I just went to close my laptop and my I made the mistake of putting my finger with the magnet too close to the magnet on the lid of the laptop. When my finger got close the magnet in my finger completely turned under the skin. This seems like it is probably really bad any feedback is greatly appreciated. Did I…

Don't cheap out on something that is going into your body. You are looking at about 60$ pdms coated one from haworth 100 for the sence 52.
-
@Chase561 how is the sencing strength compared to the last update.

I'm not trying to be a downer but this seems like an accident waiting to happen. All of the claims in your pastbin are very impressive (though there is no evidence that any of it has been properly tested) and someone who doesn't know what to watch out for might not take the proper precautions thinking that they are about…

I think pmma is an interesting meterial to try if it is relatively simple to coat with without having specialized equipment if you were to say use it as a final coating on top of a smm with an extra layer of gold plating to help fill any pin holes in the TiN.
-
A friend did it. In the case that it is going to come out how long will it take for it to become obvious.
-
@cassox so one last question sorry to bother you so much. In the case that it was too shallow, when would know if it is going to reject. I am a week and a half in and it seems like it is too shallow but I don't really have a reference to base it on. At the one month mark should it be safe to assume that unless the coating…

@Cassox I am not sure if the pictures are high enough quality if they aren't I will dig out my dslr.

So as a follow up question, it looks to have healed properly but I can feel it under the skin and it looks as if I can possibly see it a little bit through the skin. Is it too shallow and given this does it appear to be at risk for rejection. http://imgur.com/a/opMF6T5

I understand why it is put in the ring finger I was just working why it is put on the outer side of the finger it seems to be an awkward position to put your hand in. I do see the advantage of it not rubbing on the middle finger.

Wicking is the whole reason I didn't use stitches. As for maceration it cleared up after about an hour or two of leaving only the steri strip on and removing the bandaid.

@chironex while I would say that for the most part you should use lido different people have different pain tolerances and can do it without any pain killers or lido.

@cassox would something closer to 0.1 M be better to test with? https://www.flinnsci.com/sodium-sulfide-solution-0.1-m-500-ml/s0252/
