Yeah, but neodymium is still poisonous. Definitely go to a doctor; you'll get the riot act read to you, but it's their job to know how to slice you open with minimal trauma.
-
Can you stick me down for 5 5x2's, please?
-
@djangojerusalem: Picking up strong neodyms is a no-no; I'd be impressed if you managed it - my implant rolled over when a stack of neodyms was waved a few inches away, which prompted a serious flinch reaction. ",

Hi, Joshua.
-
Apparently I'm incredibly wrong. Sorry.
-
Mine's gotten slightly stronger since I first got it (I can now pick up 5 cent pieces fairly reliably, where before I could only manage 2 cents). I doubt that the field's actually gotten stronger; I suspect it has more to do with position in my finger, or something. Mine's a cylinder section rather than a disc though,…

Good to hear it went well! Could you write up the procedure he used for reference and comparison, please?
-
Nokia's had more impressive ideas. It just sounds like a designer got the words "haptic" and "phone" and mushed them together until they generated something patentable, rather than a serious technology idea. Also would mean you'd have to carry your phone in the same pocket forever, or else it would have to put out a…

That sounds like a hell of a trip report in the making. ",)

Iestyn at Divine Canvas did mine. Great guy; I did get an infection, but I entirely blame myself and my shitty aftercare.

Time to build a hypodermic Gauss gun? (",) There are ways and means...
-
Nice work! Thanks for reporting the results. ",)
-
I'd be interested in 10.

I got a kilo of piracetam powder for about $40 plus shipping when I started, and piracetam's toxic dose appears to be in the "difficult to actually eat this much" range, so I had no qualms about elephantine doses. (",)
-
I found the rule with piracetam to be: start high, then drop down. I've attack-dosed a couple of times (stopped taking Piracetam for a few months, then started again) and I was on 4 to 6 grams a day for about a month to start with, then halved the attack dose for maintenance. You're entirely right about there being too…
-
No effect for the first while is standard. What attack dosage are you on?
-
@ThomasEgi: if you decide to get a board fabbed, I'll split costs with you for some.
-
Divine Canvas in London, too.
-
Pass it on to me too, please? Also, how much mass would coating add?
-
Well, considering Nathan chose parylene for its use in the medical prosthetic industry, it's probably fairly safe (see here for some evidence). I've a Haworth-type silicone coated magnet; I've climbed walls without any issue, but I don't know how well it would handle serious shock.
-
Good to hear. ",)

I ain't touching Google+, I'm afraid; I'm not comfortable with the WASPcronym policies, or giving yet more personal info to an ad agency.
-
The side of the finger, perhaps?
-
That sounds like a fucking fantastic idea for prototyping. Nice work. I'm doing something completely different, then; I'll pass on my results once I eventually get them, in case they'll be of any use to you, but there's no real parallels during dev and test. Good luck with it!
-
Should have been @Jack or @SovereignBleak, but I had a brainfart. Sorry.
-
It's always worth joining - or just hanging around in - a hackerspace; they've got the best toys, and the one I'm involved in is always looking for people from different areas to dilute the rampant computeryness of the place. Plus, you get to meet the maddest people.
-
Yikes! Better you than me, boss. ",) The 90º -> promote better healing makes intuitive sense; I'll try and formalize it and post back why that is, if I can.
-
That design is probably to remove skin resistivity as a problem, while protecting the sensor. When you're immersed in a conductive fluid, skin resistivity is the problem. When you're immersed in air, skin resistivity is rarely your biggest problem.
-
I'm in the planning stages for testing what putting a 60 bpm TENS signal into the human body fairly long term does for time perception; have you any further info about that implantable clock? Save duplication of effort, etc.
-
I vote getting rid; I'm sure it's just in the signup thing out of the box, but it gives a wrong first impression. @Ian, if you folk are too busy to do it, I can try get a patch together and send it to you. It will take me a bit.
