I had a m31 reject, probably a year after implanting. My finger felt very tender / sore and swollen, like there was a splinter in it. The skin on the finger was very tight, like a balloon that had been blown up a bit. I also felt lightly feverish / clammy all over. I ended up swinging by the injury clinic and had a doctor…

Hey Russ - I'm actually moving to Vancouver over the summer. Let's grab a drink when I'm in town.
-
Whoah! That's really intense. You should take a shot at night too.
-
Sounds like a cool project - Just sent you a DM

Re: stem cells The team from forever labs (https://foreverlabs.com) takes stem cells from the spine and cryogenically stores them for future use. I've spoken with them before and they're pretty approachable, I bet they'd be willing to provide the stem cells immediately after the service if you wanted them.

100% on board for a Patreon. I'd be happy to chip in to keep everything going + sponsor interesting projects.

Hmm. Having trouble with embedded images. Here's an a small album http://imgur.com/a/KuvVz If anyone working on the m31 wants this magnet for review just let me know. Happy to ship it out.

Trip report: Ended up getting sent to the injury dept. at Kaiser. The Dr there was pretty interested and we worked together to remove the m31. When he stuck me with the local anesthetic a good amount of puss geysered out. I had brought a magnet (coin sized medium strength) and he used it to feel the location of the m31 and…

@cass - yea if you want to send some supplies over that would be great. I'll dm you my address. If I can't get it taken out professionally on Thursday then I want to do it asap. I'd say things are 20% worse today than they were yesterday. @ThermalWinter - Added what I have into the doc. Will update again after removal.
-
Interesting that both of these early ones died around the same time. Wonder if we'll see more in the near future. I didn't do anything to disturb the m31, this just seemed to happen out of the blue.
-
Thanks Proteus - that sounds just like what I'm seeing. @Cas I've actually got a general Dr's apt on Thursday, so I might hold out till then and see if they can remove it. If they cant / wont I could do it myself if it came down to it. Think it's safe to leave it in that long? Would hate to get magnet cancer or…

Thanks for hosting Cass! Is there a good place to dump photos from the event?

So the place that I was going to rent paintball equipment from went out of business :/ Is it too late to get on the cheapo equipment train? Worst case we can just swing by a target or something and pick up a crappy set.
-
I'll be driving down from San Francisco, probably that Thursday pm or Friday am. If anyone needs a ride I have a couple open seats.
-
I haven't heard of an Austin lab yet, that's exciting! Are they online anywhere?
-
Cool! @frank any plans to use this setup to hear things aside from wifi? I'd love to hear a bit about what went into the project, is this something you could see other grinders replicating?
-
I'm around and should be able to make it :)
-
Bah - work stuff came up. Might still be able to sneak down, but I'm not counting on it. Sorry SF folk - might need to find another ride.
-
Also interested in a diamond implant. I'll be driving down from San Francisco Friday night if anyone needs a ride.
-
Bah! That's what I get for checking the forums once a week. Next time
-
I might be able to make it out - moving into my new place that day though so I'm gonna have to play it by ear.
-
I'll be there - sent you a PM
-
Also interested in a group buy if it ends up happening.
-
I'm in and out of the bay all this month - but I should be around the on the 10th.
-
Also driving down from San Francisco. There should be room for one more if anyone needs a ride.
-
Any update on this? Maybe I just slipped off the radar somehow?
-
I think anything laptop sized would be fine. Smaller would be better obviously, but as long as it wasn't huge I'm sure I could get something to work. And for distance, I would say I can feel a microwave from ~2 ft away (top or side, not front). Something like that would be more than adequate.
-
Or 4 if you wanted to get creative - maybe mount it next to the door handle or something.
-
A couple of feet would be great - that's probably too much to ask for though. Could probably get away with 6 - 8 inches if it was well placed.
