  • As any documentation of biohacking related studies would be scientific, APA would be the standard format that should be used (at least in the "normal" scientific community).
  • You could always look up haptics. Sensebridge has the northpaw. Of if youre interested you could look up haptic distance/temperature sensors.
  • First of all. @Meanderpaul i have been told im a great artist again and again. Im an artist and have been doing it my whole life. And my bias is actually opposite. Because i apparently think im worse of an artist than other people do. Second @nononichi im good. Thanks for the advice but id really rather not. Im not a…
  • @aviin i agree with your view of lepht. Its such an interesting person and though its techniques are really dangerous. Lepht doesnt have all that much money to get all of the right equipment. Either way. Like i said a few times. Im still only considering it. If i do end up doing it i definitely will post the finished…
  • Thank you @MCSTUFF . You word things better than i do for one. Ill see how this idea goes and see if i want to. But i will be safe and i will do my research. Thanks again
  • Maybe. I might consider that. And also lets all just forget that anything relating to being cheap is in the title of this post. Because it really has nothing to do with anything and im looking back and noticing it was a horrible idea to put that in the title. But anyway. I doubt anyone would "let me use the shop" if i was…
  • No im not rushing into anything. Research is being done and im still just considering it
  • Like i just said. Nothing elaborate. My reasons for it are kind of complicated but i guess i can just say ive been through a lot. Also im an artist. So not necessarily a terrible looking tattoo.
  • I looked up how ancient tattoo ink was made. And its very simple. And as for the procedure. Also pretty simple. I understand that it is important to stay safe and to use sterile tools etc. And its a personal thing. Im not trying to make an elaborate design with a knife or something on my own body just for the hell of it.
  • I know lepth anonym is probably satan to most of the people on this site. But to a certain point i think that this site needs a few more people who take a couple of risks. Maybe its common sense. But at the same time it gets kinda too much at times. Idk. Thats just me. Ill just look up the recipes for old tattoo ink. Maybe…
  • @electricfeel do you have a suggestion for the ink i should use then?
  • @garethnelsonuk first of al. I actually didnt even notice that. I do want to go to a professional for the magnet. But thats because its an actual implant. Therefore if i wanted to do that myself id need to make a hole deep enough to implant. For a tattoo all id have to do is cut a bit. Throw ink on it i guess. And the only…
  • Im bi/pan or something. Tbh i dont even really know. Plus im androgynous and was genderfluid for a week which is a weird story. But anyway. Youre not the only one. Ive cut myself up a bit? Nothing actually biohacky yet but im working on it. Also maybe a haptic idea i had. Anyway. Cool. Its nice to meet you :) im Lex
  • Any heavy impact on a weapon like that would bruise you internally or tear through your skin. Unless you anchored it to the bone. Also if anyone did this theyd have to forget about taking plane rides, being admitted to many events, etc. Maybe some food for thought.
  • Cool. Thanks for the link. Hopefully ill be able to get around to ordering parts and making this thing finally.
  • I actually think we had a bit of back and forth on this a few months ago @McStuff . I do agree that the magnet option is the best of those three in the fact that it is silent. But it does involve implantation and i am not too comfortable with implantation that close to my central nervous system. Either way ill probably…
  • Thats definitely good to know. I might start of with a servo then and see how it feels and sounds (or if it makes a sound at all). Then i might try to find a way to use electrical nerve stimulation afterwards. I feel like that sensation might be cooler. Im not sure which way ill go but im definitely interested in this one.
  • Idk. Id just rather use some sort of impulse instead of a noisy annoying servo.
  • A while ago i got the idea to take a simillar device as the bottlenose. And mount it on the upper back to give a sense of how close people or objects are behind me. Though i have zero experience with electronics and coding etc. The original idea was to use a vibrating motor that would change intensity depending on how…
  • ... Good point @Cassox . Pretty much what i mean is just make sure you get a little bit past under the skin, as long as it is fairly deep for cushioning as i wqs talking about in my last post.
  • Im a little confused on the purpose for this implant. Is it just an internal usb drive for file storage etc?

  • I dont know what other grinders suggest, but id say to go a little farther than just under the skin, get into connective tissue and implant there. That way there is more nervous tissue for the implant to interact with and more cushion so that it doeasnt crack.
  • @alternate , please read up on what youre cutting into before you do. This could have resulted in muvh more serious of an outcome if you had been cutting somewhere else. There are countless references for scientific and anatomical information online and i would suggest you study a bit more before making anymore holes in…
  • Cool @McStuff , thanks! Quick question about electrodes since im not very knowledgeable about them. Will they be able to properly stimulate nerves on, say the upper back, where nerves arent as packed in as the fingertips if it is placed on top of the skin instead of underneath? Id like this to be more based on nervous…
  • @meanderingman I do like the idea. But it is very bulky. Hopefully wed be able to make something that would be much much lighter and more comfortable to wear with everyday clothes. My first idea was simply to have one mounted with a sort of harness on the upper back and then two gloves. Id like to find a way to make the…
  • Also, i am wondering if a Nd magnet implant inbetween the scapulas (shoulderblades), most likely of a different shape and size than the finger tip implants, would be able to be felt enough to ineract with a back mounted bottlenose.
  • When you get the cance, be sure to say how it goes.
  • And yet another page made. I added a pain management page for self surgery. I think the pain management page hasnt recieved as much love as it deserves.
  • @FrankMatheson , you are the luckiest among us.
  • @TheGreyKnight if youre on the main page, there are three sections. The second section is education. Click on "medical knowledge" under that. Then to anatomy and physiology. And the two i need looked over are "hand anatomy" and "skin, what it is, and where to aim when sticking things into it".
