  • Hi all, looking for a ride from Oakland late Friday night (I work till 9PM) or Saturday morning, and can come back whenever. I have gas $ and snacks! Also willing to sweeten the deal by making banana-coconut waffles one morning.
  • Aerik Martin at Fura Body Works in Castro Valley (of all the fuckin places...) did my 2 m31s. One of them rejected, but I don't think it was his fault. I'd call them up, let Aerik know Helyx sent ya. :)
  • What would be a good way to implant these without an injector? Was thinking making the hole using a 3mm hollow needle and then just finangling the magnet into the pocket, maybe using a sterile bit of plastic to get it deep enough. Was thinking pretty much the same operations as an injector uses. Mostly cuz I'm still…
  • Yeah, I was/still am rather confounded. It was definitely there when I took the suture out, I remember feeling it under there. And Yeah, I'd been keeping it bandaged, except for the aforementioned sleeping-time, so I'm not even sure when it would have come out. Oh well. Another thing to watch out for. I guess I do keep…
  • After seeing the fun that was had at the meetup, I'd definitely like some as well.

  • That's what I thought the answer would be, and the "reasonable" way to go. Thanks for the input! Still gonna order 2 and decide where to put the other one later.
  • I was also thinking about getting them on the edge of my left hand, mostly for ease-of-use. I already have 2 m31s in my r3 and r4 fingertips, so field sensitivity isn't a big issue for me for these. Excited that these are finally available! Question, what's the closest that these can be installed co-linearly with the long…
  • @meanderingman - stupid fucking meatsacks. If anyone else is driving down from the Bay area, I'd like to get a ride! I have gas money and stuff.
  • Any news on these? I'd be absolutely delighted to have one before the meetup in March, hell it'd be fun to implant it (them?) there!
  • @glims. Sounds rad! I'll also want a place on the floor, assuming i can get the days off of the job I haven't even started at yet, hah. I'll definitely keep you updated.
  • Cool! I'm still interested in using 2 different sensors and channeling the output from them to 2 different inductors. A lot of people (and me) have at least 2 magnets in their fingers. I have no idea how much better this would make sensing stuff, but it seems like your brain would be able to keep the 2 different stimuli…
  • @meanderingman Pm sent! Hopefully my completely broke ass can make it down there...
  • I have lido with 10PPM adreneline (as epinephrine) in it that I snagged when it was used to numb my hand when I got 7 stitches in my thumb webbing. I asked the doctor about when he was doing it and he said it was used to control swelling. he put a bunch in my hand before doing the stitches (and showing me how!), so I think…
  • Damn. I'm in the bay area but will be up north around the end of the month. Would absolutely love to meet some of yous! I don't know any other grinders in meatspace, just have friends who want me to put magnets in them.
  • Rad! Thanks for all of your hard work, I've been excited about this project since I first heard of it awhile ago. Glad it's still coming along, and amazingly at that! Now I just need to wait till I'm not homeless/ on the road and can build myself one! :) One question, I have a magnet implanted in my 3rd and 4th fingertips.…
  • Ohhhh yey! I have 2 m31s in my right fingers and can't wait to get a powerful one in the edge of my left hand! Thank you!
  • Any progress with this? Those Freescale chips are damn impressive. Not much of an electrinics guru, but I have access to a machine shop and can make some tiny things. Also up for guinea-pigging it if one is needed!
  • Sorry that my last post was vague, After doing loads of reading on here and other places, I have to agree that parylene just sucks. Also I figured that 2000 magnets was way over what even a big group buy could use, so I've not persued the matter any further. I'm waiting for glims' and SfM's quality-sounding magnets!!
  • Thanks for the update! Definitely looking forward to what you eventually come up with. If you need any virgin beta testers, let me know; but I'll be happy to pay for the quality. ^_^
  • @JoeyCC: I was about to say the same thing. Or just nix having to put down a gender when you sign up altogether.

  • Glims, that's good to know. Also I received a quote back from K&J and their minimum order for parylene was 2000 magnets at $.37 each. Been waiting for years for a magnet, I can wait a little longer.
  • How did your implant go? I'm also looking for a cylindrical magnet or 10.
