Magnets that small will be fine a finger apart. I had 2 1x3mm's in adjacent fingers with no problems.
-
Anecdotal, but I have an m31 (or 3), and also a 3x6mm cylinder in a fingertip, and the larger magnet definitely vibrates more noticably than the smaller ones. I have some theories about why this happens but nothing fully formed.
-
Hmm the same has happened with my 1st gen m31s in my right fingers. Maybe I'll cut one out this friday, after some whiskey. Good to give it at least the weekend to heal before I go bashing it into a WWII era lathe again. >_<
-
I want one, but one much bigger than am M31. I really liked the 3mm X 6mm one I had for a short while... Also in for $50.
-
Awh I wanted to order 2. Next batch! ^_^
-
Excited for the Parylene coated ones! I still dunno where I want them though. :(
-
Hey @cassox,, Do you have any plans to do bigger magnets? I still miss my m63 or whatever we called it. =P Also, let me know if I can help with mold pieces.
-
I thought these are coming already in (bigass) needles. What's the reasoning for doing it a different way? I could see a small incision leaving less scarring than the dermal-punch of the needle...
-
Also I found these: https://www.biopac.com/product/epoch-wireless-ecg-transmitter/ They claim to need some sort of propietary system to activate them, and I don't get why they have wires sticking out of the casing, but maybe these could work?
-
I'll want at least 2 !migration coated ones... Now just a question of aesthetics.
-
Sent these peoples a message, maybe I'll hear back. Tiny ECG chip! http://neurosky.com/biosensors/ecg-sensor/ It might work? Thoughts? Should I make a new thread for this?
-
Damn, thanks for all that! I *am* good with my hands, maybe I can make this work after all. Let me knw if ya need help with anything... (I have intermittent access to a cnc mill and lathe...)
-
Oo thanks for the video. I'm not great with theoretical microelectronics, but i am great at math, so given a ressonable explanation I think i can figure it out. (I don't know what a lot of the notes in your circuit diagram mean...) A lot of bare coils on mouser didn't seem to indicate if they were tx or rx coils, and I…
-
ooo I really want one attached to an ECG sensor, so I (or someone) could hold up any nfc reader to measure my pulse. That'd look so cool. Are ECG electronics small enough to do this?
-
Hey Thomas, do you have a good resource for a "induction charging for dummies" sort of tutorial? I've been trying to understand how it all works but haven't got far. :(
-
Haaaa I was thinking the other day about using one in one of the symbols from Doktor Sleepless.
-
Going out on a limb to hypothesize that the "tattoos" would consist of a biosensor (for blood sugar, let's say), and then a electric-responsive "ink" that that some electronics convert the biosensor readings to a voltage applied across the "ink" to change the color. (Something like this:…

Agree with everything you say, thomas. If this keeps up I'l happily help write a "SO you've been nonconsenually chipped" sticky...

Trying this as sooon as i find a friend with a Scoby. As one wo follows a vegan diet and fucking *loves* leather this falls right in that Venn sweet spot. :3

@JohnDOe and @glims grindsyndicate.slack.com and ask to join. Also, Heads up everyone, the weather is forecast for cold and showers all weekend, so plan/dress accordingly. We plan to string some tarps up outside for shelter...
-
Ahhh you beat me to it by a few hours. I was thinking the same thing, maybe am m31 with many poles on the skin side of the disc... that could help with picking up EM feilds? Maybe I'll send them an email and see what they think, and what the smallest magnet they are able to program.
-
Any updates on this? I would definitely like a tiny bone transducer or two... ALso, If you let me know the sizes of the new componets, I might, *might* be able to machine a mold out of Stainless or aluminium at work before this grindfest.
-
Coooool! Have you decided on a flexible coating yet? That keeps coming up in discussions of implants... Also I'll totally guinea pig, as well!
-
I keep intending to think about this more and I keep not. Until then, there is a guy trying to modify tobacco plants to create hormones for trans folks: http://motherboard.vice.com/en_uk/read/queer-activist-launches-diy-gender-hormone-biohacking-project This is rad!
-
Hey, any progress on this? I still feel like this stuff has promise...
-
I super like this idea. I feel like putting down (thick) traces in a serpentine pattern may be a workaround for flexibility? (think how pipelines have U shaped zigs every so often to allow for thermal expansion)... Possibly even using something like conductive thread could work, if only as a prototype. I know I've looked…

FIlled out, but what about time zones?
-
Hey Ben, you said you have a parts list? Could ya post those up or send them to me? I wanna get going on one as well and see if we can solve the resin-block issue. Also, I thought of a neat idea involving this and a bottlenose. You could have a piezo sensor on a findertip and have the bottlenose send the taps (in Morse…

Genderqueer mutant here, but also feel that it's basically 2 separate things. but glad to have more of us around!

I learned about this website at Grindfest, thanks to Ben (I dunno your forum name!) https://www.atomadhesives.com/FDA-Grade-Adhesive-Food-Safe-Epoxy Seems like they have good stuff for a reasonable price...
