First year of college. More biohacking soon

Roma wasn't built in a day. I would recommend performing some smaller scale experiments first. Research a little bit into electronic design a too. Send me a PM if you want some help on that side of things.

You may have answered some of these questions before, so I apologize in advance. Does the device you have right now have a wireless charging circuit, or are you going to add that? I am not sure if I am interpreting this correctly, but you need to keep that special receiver circuit if you want wirelessly charge the device.…

Would you mind explaining this image? Do you intend to have this implant wrap around your wrist under your skin?
-
@rpyka, That's actually the exact idea that I had. In the next iteration I am going to add some sort of plunger system. I may even attempt to make it operable with one hand to remove the need for an assistant. That seems to be an issue occasionally.

I was talking to one of the guys from Grindhouse about their Qi Charger. Here is the reference link that they sent me for a super small Qi receiver circuit. You'll still have to figure out the coil, but this should at least get you started. http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00329 Let us know how the coil thing goes. They have…

Nope, there will always be microscopic holes. They can be created even just in everyday life by moving around and such. In fact, most transdermals that you see today will eventually grow out. We need skin to grow into the implant, not just make a seal around it. The biggest improvement that is being developed right now by…

@rpyka That actually addresses my concern exactly. Would you mind if we moved this discussion to this thread? I have a second iteration of the tool posted there and some other comments.
-
Iteration number 2. This time all of the wall thickness has been decreases slightly, and a taper has been added to the tip of the implement to help break through the connective tissue. However, due to the complex geometry this one will take some more tuning in order to achieve an acceptable level of quality. So far one of…

(Copied from a previous thread, sorry for repeat) This is the most recent discussion on flexible NFC tags (relativity speaking) so I figured that I would post these pictures here. Keep in mind that this is just the first iteration to get the basic concept down. I will be refining a few things in the next version. This…

The back of the hand location is a given. That's where I intend to put mine

This is the most recent discussion on flexible NFC tags (relativity speaking) so I figured that I would post these pictures here. Keep in mind that this is just the first iteration to get the basic concept down. I will be refining a few things in the next version. This would be used in places like the arm or the back of…

@Zwytechhacker, I heard talk that in the next iteration of the forum we will have a dedicated space to documenting and logging projects, much like Hackaday.io.I am sure that will help with some of those issues.
-
@Benbeezy oh yah I forgot about those. I was going to buy some more off of you. All three of mine had the wires break off...
-
I am really debating the location and the implant method. I was thinking about trying to inject it again, but that is an awfully big needle to be using one your pinkie X_X
-
That looks pretty cool! Have you tested battery life yet?
-
I have not yet had a chance to implant mine...I've been waiting on some chlorhexidine. Hopefully within the next week or two I will get to it.
-
@Zwytechhacker, hopefully once the new site is up an running, there will be some better organization of such topics, so you won't have to constantly see these popping up in the feeds lol
-
@Zwytechhacker, I am not trying to make up excuses, but keep in mind that this is a hobby community. Many of the members in this community have full time jobs and do this in their spare time. I have been a member of the communtiy for about a year now and have been fairly active. I have seen some really great things be made…

The link doesn't appear to work. Stop teasing us!
-
How is this coming? I'm really excited to see this super small Qi charger!?
-
@AmosKamal, it looks like they were able to transmit 2mW of power through 5cm of tissue. That's pretty good!! I wonder if the size of the plate they use to receive the power is proportional to the amount of power they can collect, or if such a thing can be scaled up!
-
I have tried both methods as well, and I have to say that the needle was much more straightforward, at least in my experince. It may just be a matter of personal preference. It's probably a better option for people just getting into the world of biohacking. I was also thinking about the whole injection method itself. If…

@Chase561, I work a very physically demanding job as well and my magnet has been beaten up pretty bad too, I've bruised it a few times. I would recommend getting some gauze and wrapping it with a bandage around your finger tip. It's a little bulky but it gives you some additional protection and peace of mind.
-
@JohnDoe, I think I consider this a success! I don't think it migrated too much actually. I tried to keep it away from the pad of my finger a little more than usual so that it didn't interfere with my grabing of things. (Just so you know, that large crease in the picture above isn't the scar.) Also, I plan to soon test out…
-
@JohnDoe, I never actually noticed that. It doesn't really seem like an issue though. The perspective of the image makes it look a bit wonky, but it is a tad higher on one side nonetheless. @c00p3r, The funny thing is, I actually had to pull the magnet back out of my finger while I was testing the size of the pocket. I had…
-
You scraped bone?? That's pretty hardcore for no numbing agents. You definitely didn't need to go that far, and hopefully you did not cause any lasting nerve damage.
-
Sorry to get a bit off topic here, but are there, or will there be, any sort of bio hacking convention on the east coast? NYC would be great...
-
2 month update! Things have gotten a bit...weird. See for yourself. Now I don't really think that this is a result of the procedure or anything. In other words, if I had implanted it with the traditional scalpel method I think that the same outcome probably would have occurred. This doesn't really alarm me in any way as…

This sounds terrifying

@Avio, they are still being shipped right now
