Realtime Hormone Monitoring

Hey peoples,

I've been thinking about this for a while now, although I don't have any real time to put towards this at the moment, I've decided to ask for input.

To borrow a line from http://www.wired.com/2012/02/body-implants/, "a sensor that tracked every estrogen uptick and cortisol dip would be a self-tracker’s wet dream".

Pie in the sky, I want to have a Bluetooth LE link to an implant that is monitoring various hormones in my blood in realtime. I'm most excited about cortisol, but, as long as I'm fantasizing, let's throw in melatonin, adrenaline, testosterone, estrogen, and insulin.

Thoughts?

  • That sounds awesome. The only hormone monitoring systems I've sen for cortisol are saliva based and take at least 30 mins to develop... I don't know if there's any real time hormone detection systems available for any body fluid, including blood.... Have you done any research on this?
  • Could one have this: and modify it to be able to do such a thing?
