End of life plan for implants
OK, I admit I'm pimping my latest article, on what happens to the non-biological parts of your body when you die:
Buuuttttt.... I think it's also worth having a think about proper disposal with a lot of the implant idea that are going on here. Someday, someone is going to have to dispose of your corpse - and if you contain items that need special treatment, there ought to be a plan for how to communicate that, alert if it needs to be removed before cremation or burial, especially if they are unusual implants that the mortician wouldn't be looking for. Or instructions for donating, bequeathing, heirlooming... Or maybe you want an implant that will wirelessly beam information about the state of your rotting corpse?
On the flip side, there's the opportunity to embed some kind of time capsule in your implants for archaeologists to find centuries hence. They'll still be using QR codes in 2500, right? Right guys? :P
