Spherical magnets?

edited February 2015 in Magnets
Has anyone ever tried injecting a spherical magnet? I only ask because I'm interested in getting a cylinder implanted, but I'm slightly concerned about the possibility of it flipping on me if I ever get near a strong field.

The problem I could foresee immediately would be migration, but I'm not totally sure that would actually pose a risk. Just checking to see if anyone else has done research into this.

  • the reason we avoid spheres is that they just rotate freely under the skin. The cylinder or disk magnets don't move as easily, so the buzzing sensation is more noticeable. Don't worry about flipping the cylinder. Flipping the magnet isn't as easy as you might think.
