Light hearted/Optimistic Sci fi

Do you any of you know of a good biotechnology sci fi novel, book, or show that is more optimistic of light hearted? I ask this because most of the fiction I know of is cynical and/or dystopian.

This is all purely fiction by the way. Not looking for nonfiction works.
