@Saumanahaii Do you have any left to sell?

I was thinking something along the lines of a bio-proofed, modified and miniaturized version of this: http://www.navsys.com/papers/05-06-001.pdf It's a tracking device for birds. It takes a positional snapshot every 15 mins using 3.3 volts at 100ma for 30 milliseconds. This equates to 0.0099 Jules per snapshot. The rest of…

A friend of mine recently bought a digital pen and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8OEqPs-2lk I think something like this might be able to be reverse engineered to become transdermal eventually. Here's my take on the idea. Assuming you're right handed you would use your…

Shapshifting probably deserves it's own thread but I was talking about a replacement for normal limbs, though of course you could have extra ones. The robot works in a very similar way to real squid limbs. It has radial "muscles" and ones running down the length enabling them to change length, direction and volume, this…

The best I can come up with would be something similar to ferro fluid but instead of magnetic partials it would be nano-bots which can self assemble in to any form. They could all the information between them. This of course is pure sci-fi and probably still will be in 100 years. In the more immediate future (10 - 20…

Welcome to the forum. I'm new myself and inexperienced but I think the only real benefit for cylinders over disks is that you can inject them so if you're not injecting I'd suggest a disk, still if you're serious about your goals you'll need to overcome your dislike of needles some time. Look over the forum, lots of people…

I've gone with a thin layer of non-toxic PVA with a layer of Sugru on top. I'll have it replaced with a better one waaaay before the Sugru breaks down.
-
Well I'd have to save up but I'm very interested.

I was wondering about superglue. I've heard it was originally developed to hold skin together. Still seemed a little crazy and risky to me but I'll give it a shot since people have had success with it and I haven't learned how to stitch skin yet.

Thanks for the information Ichaleynbin. I knew nickel was bad, didn't know it was that bad! I'v got some sugru now which I know at least one other person has had success with but I'll be using another coating for added protection. I did consider electroplating, just need to find a cheep way of doing it.

Thanks for the reply. If this could be done do you think it would be possible to make southpaw obsolete by having enough sensitivity to use say a 1 by 6 mm rod to sense north?

Wow, didn't know there were geiger counter watches. Might make that my next hack after I install my magnets.

Air gills Came up with the idea when I was jogging. Basically devices implanted along the length of the arms and or legs which extract oxygen from the air and use it to oxygenate blood. In theory it could drastically enhanced endurance and reduce cramp by giving us far more oxygen than the lung alone . Of course a…

Thanks Thomas. I'm willing to take the risk with nickel as long as I can coat them safely, I imagine it's not as bad as exposed neodymium. So what would the best way to coat them affordably? I'd also be willing to give away half the magnets to somebody who could coat them for me.

I've already managed to order everything I need but I'm sure other people would love it. By the time it's open I will probably be looking to get something more advanced though.

I'm new but maybe a starter kit. I'd buy one if the price was right, saves the trouble of shopping around for everything needed.

I'm in the UK and looking to get an implant soon. I'd love to help with the study if it's not too late.
