Magnetic ring

I picked up a magnetic ring off of ebay, and it's pretty neat wandering around and feeling high flux devices like microwaves and fans buzzing. I can feel the mains current at the hookup, too.
My question is how sensitive a ring is relative to an implant. Naturally it's less, but I'd like a subjective estimate by anyone with an implant who also has a cheap magnet ring.

  1. I made a magnetic ring from a coated paperclip and a 10mm X 2mm Nd magnet.
Vibrations from an oscillating magnetic field, like a transformer, can be felt from approximately the same distance as my Haworth magnet. Of course the ring vibrates all around the finger.
  2. Cool, it should be useful then.
  3. Would you mind sharing link to the ring you bought? I have tried some of them (mostly the 2$ ones though) and none of them is as strong as you said. Thanks
