Best introductory article/website to explain the idea of biohacking?

There have been a couple people recently that have asked me about bio-hacking for one reason or another. I was just looking around for an article or website with a good introduction to share, but really didn't find anything modern. For example I didn't find any general biohacking articles that have references to the NIR vision experiment or DirectorX's magnetic ear implants. Where would you guys recommend sending someone for a good biohacking 101?

  1. What about McSTUFFs Grinding Primer for starters?
  2. Amal Graafstra's TEDx talk is a nice intro.  There are a few other TED talks on biohacking (e.g. Ellen Jorgensen) that are a pretty palatable way to gain insight for those with no concept of what biohacking is.
  3. send them to this site....
  4. Thanks! I was one of these people that posted threads on getting into diy biology, synthetic bio and this. I am majoring in biology but don't really know how to get into syn bio.
  5. @GenomeValley Does your college have an iGem team?

  6. No its more pre med and pre nursing emphasis in my university. In my community college we did have a biotech class but diy bio was not in the public eye yet. But I will look again and see where it fits in my schedule to join.
