Best process for removing magnets

Okay, so I've had a magnet in my finger for a bit now, but I'm thinking of upgrading to a larger one, possibly a disc this time, and I'd like it in the same finger.  Do we have a set procedure for getting these things out, or do you just start slicing and use tweezers to pull it out?

As an aside, what is the largest disc that is comfortable in a small finger?  Oh, and is PEEK considered biocompatible?  I'm considering a magnet from here.

  1. It's been suggested to use another magnet to gently pull out your magnet once you've sliced it open.
