NFC temperature sensor / pressure sensor

I found this today and thought it worth sharing:

Its a $10 temperature sensor patch which powers and transmits data via NFC. No battery, no bluetooth, just a flexable patch.

The magic behind this is the RF430FRL15xH microcontroller:

The microcontroller can be piggy backed or used in your own circuit with different sensors. Here the original temperature patch was piggy backed to add a pressure sensor as well:

  1. There are already a few temperature chips that can be implanted. What benefit do you see to having a pressure sensor as well?

    Edit: I didn't notice how this was a dead thread till I got a badge...
