I'm wondering if there is a cheaper way to buy genetics material than through biotech sites on the net? Even restriction enzymes cost hundreds of dollars, getting a gene sequenced would be significantly more. I'd be keen to get into genetics if it wasn't so expensive, surely there has to be a better way to do it?

  1. What genetic material are you looking to get your hands on?
  2. Well nothing just yet, I haven't built or bought any of the equipment I'd need. And I'd probably learn how to do it with bacteria or something before I started gene-modding. My dilemma holds for both of them, though.
