A new hope in computation and mind uploading.

my name is Roberto Bovolenta, and I’m an Italian physicist.
I’ve always been passionate about the neuroscience world, about the great mysteries of human brain and self-consciousness, and about the new frontiers of neuroengineering.
Particularly, I’m fascinated by the subject of mind uploading, since I believe that it might lead in the near future to what will be the next step in the path of human evolution.
Now, as we all know, mind uploading will requires very powerful computers, extremely higher than current computers, and exactly for this reason I decided to let you know an interesting opportunity in that field.
In summer 2010, Professor Seth Lloyd, of Boston’s MIT, with his team, published a research that analyzed the singular phenomenon of quantum post-selected teleportation.
In summary, they hypothesized the existence of “closed timelike curves” (or CTC), generated by quantum teleportation, which they could be applied to computation, with the amazing effect to reset the time resource of calculation (or, in other words, to perform unlimited operations in 0 seconds).

In April 2013, I conceived a experimental solution to verify the actual existence of CTC by means of a quantum continuous-variable post-selected teleportation technique.
The research was published on arXiv here: http://arxiv.org/abs/1304.1892 .
The peculiarity of this solution is that, if CTC’s hypothesis was proved, we could use this device to increase indefinitely the power of a CLASSIC computer (so NOT quantum).
Unfortunately I’ve not the necessary means to carry out the experiment, and the few people that possess means and knowledge to do it (including Seth Lloyd himself and Professor Furusawa of Tokyo University) are difficult to contact and already too busy in other projects.
Personally, I think that the existence of CTC is quite unlikely, but even if there was only 0,0001% chance that the experiment has successful, this would be really a revolution for the world of computation and, obviously, for the frontiers of neuroscience; and a big opportunity for the mind uploading project.
